Lo Boheme - Vintage Inspired Accessories

*Click pictures to enlarge*

The MakeUp Dolls are very excited to be collaborating with Lauren, the creator of Lo Boheme for an upcoming photo shoot this weekend! The Dolls, of course, will be behind the scenes creating glamorous hair and makeup looks that incorporate Lo Boheme's hair fascinators, hats and cage veils. This all adds up to drop dead gorgeous inspirational looks for our brides! Keep an eye out for upcoming photos of all the fun!

Lo Boheme specializes in one of a kind, custom accessories for weddings, special events, or everyday wear. Lo Boheme describes the inspiration for the pieces as an "aesthetic inspired by the details of eras past; whether it be French Bohemianism of the late 1800's, the detailed lines of the Art Nouveau movement, or the glamor of Old Hollywood. It is the delicate feminine sophistication from these times, coupled with Lo's modern eye that produce unique yet wearable statement head pieces." The Dolls just couldn't agree more!

For more information on Lo Boheme, head over to their website www.loboheme.com or check out their online shop on etsy.com to see the current for sale collection.

Favor Idea....Custom Glosses!

What a cute idea from Tarte Cosmetics! Custom "perfect pair" moisturizing lip gloss that can be customized with the bride and groom names! Wouldn't these be a perfect favor engagement parties, bridal showers or weddings?

Choose your own moisturizing lip gloss duo from their collection named after famous couples like Tarzan and Jane, Anthony and Cleopatra and our personal fav, Luke and Laura from General Hospital fame (pretty cute huh?).

The Makeup Dolls just love the thought of combining the traditional practice of giving favors with something unexpected, fun and usable like lip gloss. We think this will go over much better than a cd of favorite soft rock love songs, ala Michael Bolton, but that could be just us! The future seems bright for these little gems! Happy glossing!

Inspirations - Lush Lashes

*Click on the photo to enlarge*
J Lo's makeup artist rarely disappoints in the makeup inspiration category. One thing J Lo always has are lashes, lashes and more lashes. It is amazing what a huge impact these little individual lashes have to the overall look, they really do pack a punch!

The key to applying lashes is to curl your natural lashes, apply 2 to 3 coats of black mascara (we like Bad Gal Lash from Benefit) and then place lashes into the lash line, between your natural lashes. This technique promotes much more natural placement and allows you to see where lashes need to be added to achieve the overall look. Practice, practice, practice is the key!

The MakeUp Dolls include individual lash applications for all of our brides!

Doll tip: We use individual lashes or a strip cut into smaller sections...Ardell brand from the drugstore work great and are inexpensive too!

Wedding Day - Glamorous Jeri

Jeri wanted a touch of old Hollywood glamour for her hair and makeup on her wedding day. Her look is defined, glamorous and sophisticated. The focus of her ceremony look is black liner, lashes and a soft, creamy pink cheek and lip. The hair is inspired by starlet Veronica Lake, with a deep side part with large, brushed curls. Very Hollywood!

For the second look of the night, it was all about adding the drama! Smokier eyes, lots and lots of lashes and a deeper reddish pink cheek and sheer juicy red lip. Jeri's hair was picked up into a loose side chignon to complete the look. Subtle changes can have a big impact!

Just gorgeous isn't she!
