Ask The Dolls - Brazilian Blowout

We received this question on our facebook page: "Dear MakeUp Dolls, what exactly is a brazillian blow out?"

Brazilian blowout is a anti-frizz, smoothing treatment that adds shine, cuts down blow dry time and allows you to style your hair with ease if you have issues with frizz and manageability. It lasts 10-12 weeks and is not permanent which is good, unlike straightening services. It is ideal for wavy, frizzy, thick or medium textured hair but can also be used on the ends of finer hair. The product contains keratin which naturally occurs in hair, the solution "coats" the hair strand and thus makes it smooth, shiny and fabulous!

You can make an appointment with Violet for this service at Alchemy Hair Studio http://www.alchemyhairstudio.com/Alchemy_Hair_Studio/Home.html or check with your salon to see which stylist offers this service.

The Look - The Met Costume Institute Gala

This Annual Event brings out the fashionistas and designers to celebrate women's fashion in American History. There we so many looks to gawk at but our two faves were the always gorgeous Blake Lively and Sienna Miller.

Blake wore a cobalt blue Marchesa mini which showed off her best assets (her legs) but we were drawn to her smooth and fresh makeup! Her eyes were dusted on the inner corner with a shimmering white, which can be done with your pinky and just dabbed on (try Make Up Forever's loose shimmers). As for her lips, a raspberry rose pop of color worked well with her tanned complexion. To achieve a similar look try Stila's Yumberry Crush Lip Stain.
Sienna Miller wore a navy low-cut gown with  her hair in an easy, flowing half-up style. Keeping the fringe down makes the hairstyle look effortless! For her makeup, she wore a smokey navy shadow collection, by shading around the corners of the eye it allows for a sultry look without looking  overdone. Chanel has a wonderful navy palette called Bleu Celestes that will help you achieve the look! And remember when doing a smoky eye keep your lips and cheeks neutral!
