The Dolls Recommend - Our Favorite Makeup Cleansing Cloths

There are days when at the end of the night we can't bear to wash our faces (you know those nights) and we just want something quick to take our makeup off that doesn't require water. Thankfully there are a host of quick little cleaning wipes on the market that can simply and quickly whisk anything and everything right off your face with almost zero effort.  Below are a few of our favorites for doing just that:

Neutrogena Makeup Cleansing Towlettes
Find these  at your local drug store and at about $7.00 for 25.00 wipes;quite a great deal! The smell is barely there, so if you are sensitive to smell these are the choice for you! They are extemley soft and gentle but are strong enough to even remove waterproof mascara.

MAC Wipes
MAC online, MAC boutiques and department stores sell these $18.00 for 45 wipes. These super soaked wipes remove everything gently but are a bit heavy on the fragrance side. If you are sensitive to smell this may not be the wipe for you.

Sephora Face 25 Makeup Removing Wipes
Online or at your local Sephora, $8.00 for 25 wipes. Much like the MAC wipe, these are super soaked with product and makes removing extremely simple. The snap close lid also makes these great for travel!

Ask The Dolls - Brush Cleaner

We received this question on our Facebook fan page:
"Hi Dolls! What do you gals recommend I use to wash my makeup brushes? Any favorite cleaners or at-home solutions?"

What a great question! Brush washing is important for a few reasons. Dirty brushes can harbor dirt and bacteria, as well as, affect the application of your products. Cleaning brushes will also help to prolong their life and protect  your investment.

One of the least expensive solutions is to use a drug store face wash to clean your brushes, just choose one that doesn't have a lot of fragrance. Another solution is to use your shampoo, again making sure it doesn't have a lot of fragrance.

Below are a few of our favorites for purchase if you would like a cleanser specifically made for brushes. Simply work a small amount of the product onto a damp brush head, rinse completely and lay flat to dry.

MAC Brush Cleaner $11.00 at department stores or free standing MAC boutiques.

Bobbi Brown Brush Cleaner $16.50 at department stores

The Look - MTV Video Music Awards

These two luminous looks are from Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards. We love the relaxed looks of both stars, Jessica Biel and Whitney Port.

Jessica kept her makeup very minimal, while her hair was va va voom sexy! She rimmed her eyes with a champagne shimmer and just added black mascara. The skin was perfectly matte (we love Make Up Forever's HD Powder to achieve that look). It was topped off with a shimmery pink lip that made her look ready for summer.

Whitney channeled 60's glam with her look and we loved it! Her eyes were accentuated perfectly with thick, black winged liner (our fav is Bobbi Brown's Gel Liners that come in almost every color imaginable). Her volumized locks were teased at the crown to create height and then curled softly at the ends to give her that tousled look.
